KMEA Awards

Hall of Fame Nomination
Induction to the KMEA Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed by the Kansas Music Educators Association. KMEA established the Hall of Fame to honor those career members of the music education community in Kansas who have made a significant contribution to the growth of music in our state. Any music educator affecting music education in an exceptional manner may be considered. Formal induction and recognition takes place at the In-Service Workshop each February.

Outstanding Music Educator
The nomination process for Outstanding Music Educator begins at the district level. Each KMEA District then forwards one nominee to the state Executive Council for consideration of the state award. The Kansas Outstanding Music Educator is then honored each year at the KMEA In-Service Workshop.

Honor Administrator (state-level award)
Members of KMEA have a special opportunity to nominate an administrator as a candidate for the KMEA Honor Administrator Award. This annual award recognizes those administrators who have demonstrated continuing leadership in developing, improving, and supporting music education within a wider commitment to arts education, i.e., music, theater, visual arts, and dance.

Honor Administrator nominations for district-level awards are located within each district's section of the Systems site:
Northwest District North Central District Northeast District
Southwest District South Central District Southeast District
